Clement A Price Lecture, Newark 1967: A rebellion Considered
This symposium series is named in honor of the late Clement A. Price, Ph.D., founding director of the Institute on Ethnicity, Culture and the Modern Experience at Rutgers-Newark University, and member of the National Museum of African American History and Culture’s Scholarly Advisory Committee. The program consists of a range of discussions that encompass efforts to rebuild the city, post-rebellion, and the challenges to Newark’s past and current leadership. The program features Mark Krasocik, Ph.D., from the Clement A. Price Institute on Ethnicity, Culture, and the Modern Experience at Rutgers University in Newark; Shané Harris, vice president of corporate giving, Prudential Foundation Corporate Social Responsibility program; Junius Williams, author, attorney and activist; and Father Edwin Leahy, headmaster of St. Benedict’s Preparatory School in Newark.
