Washington, DC - September 22: Movie goers arrive at E Street Cinema to see Stanley Nelson’s newest work, The Black Panthers: Vanguard of the Revolution which is the first feature length documentary to explore the Black Panther Party, its significance to the broader American culture, and the cultural and political awakening that it enabled for black people. The National Museum of African American History and Culture showed the film and hosted a post-screening discussion with the director Stanley Nelson. This screening is part of the Through the African American Lens Film Series offered in conjunction with the Earl W. and Amanda Stafford Center for African American Media Arts.
